These costs vary widely depending on the level of care required. The average social security payment in in 2024 is only $1,909 a month. 

 Long-term care insurance provides coverage for the cost of services that assist individuals with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, and eating, often due to aging, chronic illness, or disability.
